Fishtown Terrace

Situated on the outskirts of Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, this 500-sf rooftop terrace is a haven for all things entertainment and relaxation.

Inspired by the bright colors of Cali sunsets and the playfulness of bold patterns, function meets style here to best create a series of sit, play, eat, and rest moments.

To best provide a plan that served functional elements; considerations and modifications were made to hide existing AC units, as well as provide opportunities for hidden storage, whilst maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. A mid-century-inspired sectional couch offers moments of pause while encouraging conversation, and a contemporary long acacia wood table provides opportunities for eating, drinking, and socializing.

To delineate the various space functions, bold patterned Aruba and Jill Zarin rugs were selected. The contrast of the neutral furniture paired with the bright pattern hues within the pillows, rugs, as well as coral umbrella, create a liveliness that brightens up the previous cool neutrals that dominated the rooftop.
